Terms and Conditions for the Bariatric Surgery Giveaway

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before participating in the Bariatric Surgery Giveaway. By entering this giveaway, participants agree to comply with the terms outlined below:
1. No Purchase Necessary
Participation in this giveaway does not require any purchase or payment.
It is strictly prohibited to misrepresent or sell this opportunity to others.
2. Non-Transferable
The winner cannot sell, transfer, endorse, or gift this prize to another individual. The prize is non-transferable and must be utilized by the selected winner.
3. Procedure and Medical Consultation
The prize includes a bariatric surgery, typically a gastric sleeve. However, final determination of the procedure will be made during the consultation with the surgeon based on the winner’s medical needs.
If an asymptomatic hernia is discovered during surgery, the winner may choose to have it repaired for an additional fee of $2,000, which is optional and the patient’s responsibility.
4. Full Medical Tour
The giveaway includes a complete medical tour starting from our San Diego office to our clinic in Tijuana, Mexico, and back.
5. Eligibility
Participants must be U.S. citizens or legal U.S. residents. Entries from individuals not legally residing in the U.S. will be disqualified.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age to enter.
6. Prize Details
The giveaway includes the following:
- VIP medical transportation (roundtrip) from San Diego to Tijuana and back.
- Operating room, experienced surgeon (30,000+ surgeries performed), anesthesiologist, and nurses.
- Accommodation in a luxury clinical room, including:
– 1 night pre-surgery.
– 2 mandatory nights post-surgery.
– Meals during recovery. - All tools, equipment, and resources related to the surgery.
- Consultations with a psychiatrist and nutritionist as part of aftercare.
7. Expertise
The procedure will be performed by our lead surgeon, who is internationally recognized for his expertise and has completed over 30,000 bariatric surgeries in the last 20 years.
8. Scheduling
The winner may schedule their surgery at any time within 12 months of the announcement date.
9. Media Consent
By participating, the winner agrees to allow UMG’s media team to interview and document their experience for promotional use on social media and other platforms.
10. Travel Responsibility
If the winner resides outside the San Diego area, they are responsible for arranging and covering their travel expenses to our San Diego office or airport for transportation. This is the only expense winners outside the local area may incur.
11. Fair Participation
Using bots, fake email addresses, or any other fraudulent methods to enter the giveaway will result in immediate disqualification. Fraudulent entries will also be removed from our database.
12. Disqualification
UMG reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates the terms of this giveaway, including but not limited to providing false information, using automated entry methods, or engaging in abusive or harmful behavior.
13. Health Eligibility
All participants understand that bariatric surgery is a medical procedure requiring pre-operative and post-operative evaluations. Final eligibility will be determined by the surgical team based on the participant’s health and medical history.
14. Liability Waiver
Participants understand that bariatric surgery carries inherent risks, as with any medical procedure. By entering this giveaway, participants agree to hold UMG harmless from any complications arising from the procedure, except for gross negligence.
15. Winner Selection
The winner will be chosen through a fair and randomized process. UMG’s decision is final and binding.
16. Notification of Winner
The winner will be notified via email and/or phone. If the winner does not respond within 7 days of notification, a new winner will be selected.
17. Privacy Policy
Participant information collected during this giveaway will be used for lead generation and email campaigns related to bariatric surgery and wellness. Information will not be sold or shared with third parties outside of UMG.
18. Prize Substitution
No cash or alternative prizes will be offered. UMG reserves the right to modify or substitute the prize for one of equal value in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
19. Compliance
This giveaway complies with all applicable U.S. laws and regulations.
20. Entry Period
Valid entries will be accepted and registered in the system starting from December 27th until February 25th at 9:00 AM PT. Entries submitted outside this time frame will not be considered.
21. Bonus Entries for Social Media Engagement
Participants who engage with UMG’s social media accounts by performing daily interactions (e.g., likes, comments, shares, or reposts) will earn 1 extra entry per day per social media platform.
The extra entries will only be counted if the interaction is genuine and aligns with the platform’s community guidelines.
UMG reserves the right to disqualify participants engaging in spammy or automated interactions.
22. Platform Disclaimer
Participation in this giveaway through ads or posts on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok, or Google does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or administration of the giveaway by any of these companies. These platforms are not responsible for any aspect of the giveaway, and participants release them from any liability related to the promotion.
